Michael Carvalho is the President of Carvalho & Associates, P.C., a law firm he founded in 2004. Mike concentrates his practice in environmental law, construction law, complex litigation and energy matters. He is an experienced trial lawyer and has both successfully defended and prosecuted claims in connection with violations of the federal Clean Water Act, Superfund, the Clean Air Act, and Resource Conservation and Recovery Act, among other environmental laws. He has successfully defended clients in a broad range of construction matters, to include the catastrophic failure of an earthen dam. He regularly advises clients on environmental risk management, construction-related Best Management Practices and transactional matters involving risk allocation and transfer (Brownfields). Mike also counsels clients in regulatory, permitting and licensing in the areas of Coastal Zone Management, Climate Change (planning, adaptation and mitigation), Renewable Energy, Clean Water Act compliance and Hazardous Waste Management.
