Conference Policies

Registration Policies

Individuals must register and pay the appropriate fee(s) in order to attend any portion of the NCSE Annual Conference. Violations of this policy will result in removal from the conference. Under no circumstances is an attendee with an individual name badge permitted to give the badge to another individual who is or is not a paid attendee at the conference. Fraudulently allowing an individual to gain access to educational sessions, social event and/or exhibits by using another’s credentials is grounds for immediate removal of all parties from the conference.

Cancellation policy
NCSE will accept cancellations until December 18, 2018. No refunds will be processed after that date. NCSE will charge a $55 cancellation fee for members and students. All other registration types will be charged a $90 cancellation fee. You may cancel your registration through the registration portal or by emailing

No shows are considered to have missed the deadline and are not eligible for a refund. No refund will be issued for onsite registrations.

Individuals may substitute a registration until December 31, 2018. After that no substitutions will be accepted.

Videotaping Policy
Videotaping is strictly prohibited in all educational sessions, unless by the official NCSE staff or videographers. Violations of this policy will result in removal from the session and possible revocation of conference registration.

Photography Release
From time to time, NCSE uses photographs of conference events in its promotional materials. Unless the permission is revoked in writing, by virtue of their attendance, all conference visitors agree to use their likeness in such materials.

Code of conduct

The National Council for Science and the Environment expects all conference attendees to maintain high standards of professional conduct and uphold the policies and procedures set forth for the conference. To the degree that an attendee, individually or collectively, purposefully and fraudulently circumvents NCSE’s rules, regulations and ethical standards, NCSE vies such conduct as serious violation that will jeopardize attendance at the conference and could jeopardize attendance at future conferences. NCSE is committed to maintaining an environment that encourages respect and dignity for each individual. As part of the commitment, NCSE prohibits harassment by a client, vendor, member, non-member, or others who may interact with staff during their course of business.

By completing registration, you agree to all conference policies listed within the program, NCSE website, and the online registration and housing website.
